GENERIC AIRSOFT INFO

The sport of Airsoft started in Japan during the early 1980s. While it was illegal to own firearms in Japan, there was still a significant interest in them. This resulted in a company producing spring-powered replicas of firearms that fired 6mm, plastic BBs.

Airsoft started appearing in North America and Europe during the middle of the 1990s, but it is only during the last 5-10 years that the sport started thriving in these venues. Airsoft uses 1:1 real world replicas of modern firearms of various types and styles.

For additional information on Airsoft, view the article found at Wikipedia.org found here.

THE BEGINNING: THE SILVER WOLVES

The Silver Wolves began in the summer of 2003 with a handful of friends and a couple of spring pistols. The equipment of the players slowly progressed from spring pistols to spring rifles, to gas powered handguns, and then finally to fully automatic electric powered rifles.

With members beginning to have high powered guns and equipping themselves with realistic looking military gear, it was time for an organized structure to be created.

The Silver Wolves was formed as an airsoft team. The members played regular games and began to attend statewide events, but were still more of a novice team compared to others in the state.

WOLVES EVOLVED: THE WOLF RECON AIRSOFT TEAM

After a lengthy break in 2005, the team began the year of 2006 with a bang. A new plan was formed, and a team revision was put into motion. In August 2006, the Silver Wolves were reborn as the Wolf Recon Airsoft Team. Some members of Wolf Recon have joined the Wisconsin Airsoft Association and have become active in the state in hopes of being involved in the local airsoft community.

With military-simulation in mind, members of the team are constantly training. Focusing on success, dedication, tactical awareness, operational readiness, and efficiency will allow Wolf Recon to take on a multitude of different challenges. The team regularly practices with its own members and with nearby teams in scenarios ranging from lighthearted skirmishes to detailed and challenging weekend long mil-sim games.

It is common for airsoft teams to emulate special forces teams or recon elements. The team has gone the other route and specializes in being a line unit; front line fighting, taking and holding positions, and defending objectives. Wolf Recon is planning on being an operational squad that a commander can count on.
